If you like space, science, consciousness, artificial intelligence, time travel, the afterlife, parallel dimensions, and topics such as these, you will probably enjoy David Huntsberger. David is familiar to comedy nerds from the popular podcast Professor Blastoff, which he co-hosted with Tig Notaro and Kyle Dunnigan. He has also been on lots of other podcasts like WTF with Marc Maron, Doug Loves Movies, The Dork Forest, Alison Rosen is Your New Best Friend, Comedy Film Nerds, and Dumb People Town, where he is the recurring voice of High Vitale. And you can hear him every week interviewing scientists and artists over beer on his current podcast, the Space Cave. Over his career, David has released three stand-up CDs (Hello Robot, Humanitis, Explosion Land) that get regular play on internet, satellite, and FM stations. His most recent release is an animated stand-up special called One-Headed Beast that features David’s stand-up set played over animation contributed from more than twenty animators from around the world. It can currently be streamed on Amazon Prime. On the television side, he was the host of Syfy’s Reactor, and he performed stand-up on Comedy Central’s Premium Blend and NBC’s Last Comic Standing, where he was a semi-finalist. It’s a show where people compete at an art form. He has made appearances as an actor in Amazon’s One Mississippi and in the second season of Jonah Ray’s Hidden America. As an illustrator, he dabbles in screenprinting, and he recently published his first book of comics called Just Perfect. He may have some of each on hand for you to flip through after the show.
