Figure Drawing (August)
This is a four-week class.
Wednesdays, August 1 - 22, 2018
7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Come practice your figure drawing skills with our live models in this four-week course! Each session consists of a few 10 second poses to get warmed up, followed by three 5-minute poses, two 15-minute poses, and two 30-minute poses. These open studio sessions provide no formal instruction, but an instructor will be on hand to help answer questions, if needed.

In this course, students will be introduced to the modern and historical applications of earth arts and begin to experiment with natural materials not normally associated with an art practice.

You can be an outer space artist by using these simple techniques. Learn how to create an awesome eclipse painting using shaving cream, food coloring, and black acrylic paint. You will also learn how to create authentic looking stars by using a simple paint splattering technique.

This is an open studio for airbrushing. Want to try airbrushing? Need a place to practice? Want to get better? Do you need help setting up or trouble shooting your equipment? Bring your own equipment to work with or take advantage of an airbrush station provided by the instructor.

Handmade Books
This is a two-week class.
Saturdays, October 6 - 13, 2018
10:30 AM to 1:00 PM
In this class, students will learn to make several different kinds of books. In the first class, students will learn to make a star book. We will create designs using shaving cream and food coloring and construct the book while our designs dry. In the second class, we will make a journal and an accordian book, designing the covers with the same process or with other materials provided by the instructor.

This is a one-day class.

The challenge is to paint a watercolor without using any brushes. The class will explore fun ways to make marks in watercolor with alternative means: sponges, sticks, paper edges, vegetables, string, etc. and still produce a creative and expressive image.
